Ben Barrs

After graduating as a qualified quantity surveyor in 1991 Ben enjoyed spells in consultant QS firms and large contractors, gaining experience in a diverse range of construction projects from civils to football stadia. Ben joined Miller Homes in 1994 as a surveyor before joining the land and development team. A 10 year career followed with Miller Homes in the west of Scotland. For 5 of these years Ben was Board Director responsible for all land and development procurement. Projects involved all aspects of residential work from grant aided refurbishment to high value housing. Indicative turnover levels at this time were £70m per year with requirement to procure an average of 600 units per annum to Miller Homes’ land bank. Ben left Miller Homes in 2004 to form Baronial.
